Springer is delighted to announce that the Series in Biomedical Engineering (https://link.springer.com/series/7752) – the official book series of the International Federation for Medical and Biological Engineering (IFMBE) – is seeking one or more Series Editors to serve as ambassadors of the series.

Series Editors may encourage colleagues or potential authors to contribute to the book series and will be invited to review book proposals submitted to Springer or IFMBE for this specific series.

Most proposals come from IFMBE members. Springer will conduct an initial pre-selection of submissions to ensure that Series Editors only receive well-prepared proposals. This reduces the effort required for review, allowing editors to focus on advising the Springer editor on possible improvements for promising book ideas. Series Editors are not required to communicate directly with potential authors unless they wish to do so. The Springer book editor will manage all author communication, collect materials for review, and coordinate the later stages of the process, including submission of the final revised manuscript.

The series welcomes monographs, contributed volumes, textbooks, and professional books. Conference proceedings, however, are not included (they belong to a dedicated series: IFMBE Proceedings https://link.springer.com/series/7403).

For each book reviewed or accepted in the Series in Biomedical Engineering, Springer will provide remuneration to the Series Editor and, if desired, a free print/electronic copy of the published book. The names of the Series Editors will also appear on the series webpage.

Springer welcomes nominations for this role.

Given the broad scope of the series, nominations should include the nominee’s main topics of interest and expertise. Additional information such as participation in national or international research projects, coordination of PhD or other programs, or teaching activities will also be helpful. This will enable the Springer editor to direct proposals to the most suitable Series Editor and ensure a fair distribution of work.

If you wish to submit a nomination, please proceed as follows:

Send your CV, a short motivation statement explaining your expertise and interest in this role, and any questions for the Springer editor to [email protected] by January 2026.
