On behalf of the organizing committee and the Latvian Medical Engineering and Physics Society, we are happy to welcome you to the 19th Nordic-Baltic Conference on Biomedical Engineering and Medical Physics, NBC 2023 held in Liepaja from June 12th to 14th 2023.

The conference attracts scientists from all over the world for a fruitful exchange of thoughts and sharing of results. The conference will feature some outstanding keynote lectures and workshops on special topics. The Nordic-Baltic Conference on Biomedical Engineering and Medical Physics is held for the second time in Latvia. The first time was in 2008 which was the 14th NBC, and we look forward to hosting this important Nordic conference again next summer in Liepaja.

Liepaja is the 3rd largest city in Latvia and the 10th largest in the Baltic States. About 70,000 people call Liepaja their home, their place of study and work. The city is sandwiched between the Baltic Sea and Lake Liepaja which themselves are connected by the Trade Canal.

Liepaja has historically been an industrial city as well as a closed military territory, however, over the years the city’s residential, recreational, and business environment has seen ongoing improvements put in place. It has become a modern city with a global outlook, but at the same time retaining the comforts typical of a small town.

12-14th June 2023

None of the traditional engineering fields had to evolve so fast as Clinical Engineering. Though a relative new profession, it has to keep the pace with the evolution of medical technology. Today, many medical centers cannot operate at full capacity without adequate CE support. The progress of Clinical Engineering is so fast, that it creates a gap of practices and knowledge among the many regions around the world. This gap sometimes becomes quite wide due to the lack of communication among the regions since most of the Clinical Engineering meetings are local initiatives. Hence, it was of extreme importance to have an International gathering for Clinical Engineering professionals, where it could be informed and updated what is being developed in different parts of the world and how Clinical Engineers could help each other.

Brazil, the site of the Summer Olympics is inviting you to become part of the second International Clinical Engineering and Health Technology Congress – II ICEHTC.

International Conference on Biomedical and Health Informatics 2017

Electra Palace Hotel
Thessaloniki, Greece
18-21 November 2017

The IFMBE WG on Health Informatics and eHeath, and the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Lab of Computing Medical Informatics & Biomedical-Imaging Technologies invites you to the 3rd ICBHI which will take place in Thessaloniki on 18-21 November, 2017.

Medicon 2016 (31 March – 2 April 2016) provides a common platform for the cross fertilization of ideas, and to help shape knowledge and scientific achievements by bridging complementary disciplines into an interactive and attractive forum under the special theme of the conference that is Systems Medicine for the Delivery of Better Healthcare Services.

AFROBIOMEDIC 2016 (17 – 21 October 2016) is the premier inter-disciplinary and international forum for exchange of ideas on all aspects of medical physics, biomedical engineering and sciences as they affect the continent of Africa.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) had estimated that 40 – 60% of medical equipment in the developing Africa is unserviceable and that there is a serious shortage of resources and trained personnel. WHO therefore has developed guidelines to ensure appropriate donations of medical equipment. This conference is meant to address key needs and problems and take up the challenge of identifying future strategies and solutions. This event will in addition to other things provide an excellent opportunity to enable participants acquaint themselves with the requisite information to ensure appropriate biomedical technology for Africa.

The Regional Council of Biomedical Engineering for Latin America – CORAL will host the VII Latin-American Congress of Biomedical Engineering, CLAIB2016 from October 26th to October 28th, 2016 at the “Universidad Autónoma de Bucaramanga, Colombia”. This conference is being organized and summoned by the Colombian Association of Bioengineering and Medical Electronics–ABIOIN.

The IUPESM World Congress (WC) on Medical Physics (MP) and Biomedical Engineering (BME) comes but once every three years. WC2015 will be in Toronto from June 7-12.

The international Conference on Biomedical and Health Informatics (BHI2015 or ICBHI2015) is a special topic conference and a common initiative by the International Federation of Medical and Biological Engineering (IFMBE) and IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (IEEE- EMBS). BHI2015 will be held in Haikou, China, 8-10 October 2015.

The 6th European Conference of the International Federation for Medical and Biological Engineering (MBEC 2014) will be held in Dubrovnik, Croatia, from 7th to 11th September 2014. This conference continues the series of well-known European IFMBE Conferences held in Budapest in 2011, Antwerp in 2008, Prague in 2005, and two times in Vienna in 2002 and 1999.

The 1st Global Conference on Biomedical Engineering, GCBME 2014, will be held in conjunction with the 9th Asian-Pacific Conference on Medical and Biological Engineering (APCMBE 2014) at the National Cheng Kung University, Tainan, Taiwan, from October 9 to 12, 2014.
