IFMBE is pleased to highlight that its member organization, the Institute of Biomedical Technology (INBIT), has been formally designated as a World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre for Medical Equipment Management and Assessment.
This important recognition by WHO acknowledges INBIT’s longstanding expertise and international contributions in the field of clinical engineering, health technology management, and health technology assessment (HTA). As a WHO Collaborating Centre, INBIT will support global efforts in:
- strengthening medical equipment management systems,
- advancing evidence-based assessment of health technologies,
- contributing to capacity building and policy development, and
- promoting safe, effective, and sustainable use of medical devices worldwide.
This designation further reinforces the critical role of clinical engineers and biomedical engineers in supporting resilient and high-performing health systems.
