Experts from IFMBE met on 18th and 19th December 2024 to discuss and review together with WHO expert teams the draft version of the publication Development of medical device policies, second edition, which is a part of the WHO Medical Device Technical Series. The meeting was hosted by Professor Leandro Pecchia at the University Campus Bio-Medico (UCBM) in Rome.
The first edition of the same title was published in 2011 (https://www.who.int/publications/i/item/9789241501637). The second edition of the book is expected to be presented at the Fifth WHO Global Forum on Medical Devices to be held from 2nd – 6th June 2025 in Geneva (Fifth WHO Global Forum on Medical Devices).
