Activities

Health Informatics and e-Health WG scientific challenge: The WG will propose a series of scientific relevant challenges in coordination with the ICBHI conference series, inviting participants to tackle clinically relevant open problems. Proposed solutions will be presented during the ICBHI conference series and the best solution will be awarded.

Health Informatics and e-Health WG tutorial program: The WG will organize tutorial sessions on advanced cutting edge research topics by leading international experts to be held during ICBHI conference series. These tutorial programs might be organized in coordination with the Health Informatics and e-Health book series program.

Health Informatics and e-Health WG Young investigator travel fellowship for ICBHI conference series: Postdoctoral researchers, graduate students and undergraduate students may apply for (limited number of) travel awards to present their latest work at the ICBHI conference series. Grants will be awarded based on quality of submitted contribution to the conference.

Health Informatics book series: Organization and technical sponsorship of a book series on Health Informatics by Springer Verlag.

Promotion of Health Informatics: The WG shall engage actively the promotion of Health Informatics and eHealth inside the regional IFMBE conferences by organizing special sessions and workshops.

Supporting activities inside ICBHI 2017 including journal publication of selected papers. Selection of the ICBHI 2019 conference’s venue and leadership.

Strengthening of the relationship between the Health Informatics and e-Health WG and the Heath Informatics WG of the IEEE-EMBS. The WG will actively engage activities to support the strengthening of the relationship between IFMBE and the IEEE-EMBS by, e.g., supporting the BHI conference series, and by promoting and organizing joint activities.

Health Informatics and e-Health WG annual face-to-face meeting will be organized in order to update, plan and discuss activities of the WG. Tele-conference meetings of the WG will be organized according to needs. The following annual face-to-face meetings are planned:

• 2016 will be held during the AHI 2016 in Hong-Kong.
• 2017 will be held during the ICBHI 2017 conference in Greece
• 2018 venue to be defined (proposal –WC 2018, Prague)

Establishing communication with Int’l Telecommunication Union (ITU) and International Society for Telemedicine & eHealth (ISfTeH). They are also WHO NGO and we could invite some events together. Organize f2f meeting with their reps at one of the conferences.
