The World Health Organization announced the World Patient Safety Day on Improving diagnosis for patient safety for the 17th September 2024. The slogan “Get it right, make it safe!” is highlighting the critical importance of correct and timely diagnosis in ensuring patient safety and improving health outcomes. Most of the diagnostic procedures and therapeutic interventions today are based on medical devices and technology, therefore the biomedical and clinical engineering community is focused on increasing patient safety by systematic approach and practice. Accurate and timely diagnostics is the key for successful patients’ outcome.
The IFMBE will support the World Patient Safety Day initiative by active participation in an online seminar on the issue on the 17th September, the schedule and exact timing to be announced. Save your date for the event!
